Gloria Marie Starito

6/16/1922 – 12/11/2022

Born June 16th 1922 in Jamaica Queens.
Daughter to Mary and Dominick Cipollone, sister to Lawrence and Dorothy.

Gloria graduated High School then became a secretary at the Department of Civil Defense at the Empire State Building. In 1946 she married the boy down the block back from the war, Michael Joseph Starito. They proceeded to put a happy life together sharing the love of their 5 children; Rosemary, Michael, Laura, Donna and Christine. Gloria held the household and children together as they moved to their new home in Elmont where they stayed for the next 50 years. After all of her children went through college she did volunteer work for the Cerebral Palsy Elmont Auxiliary. She also worked at the local craft store using her sharp head for numbers running the front end and keeping an eye on the til.

Their move to Wantagh in 2002 let Gloria once again enjoy the suburban life of gardening and good neighbors still maintaining a closeness with her children, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. It was always about the children with Gloria.
