OBITUARY
Geraldine Nott Murphy Albrecht
2/2/1954 – 8/21/2025
Geraldine Nott Murphy Albrecht, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Geraldine lived a vibrant and generous life filled with love, curiosity, and joy.
From an early age, Geraldine – usually called Gerry or GG – was known for her spirited nature and her love of dancing—a passion she carried throughout her life. She was rarely seen without her cherished cup of tea and never missed a chance to move to the music, especially with her husband Warren Albrecht, with whom she shared 16 joyful years of marriage, traveling and cruising to Jamaica, Mexico, and many other locations.
Gerry built a meaningful career helping others, dedicating over 20 years of service as a Residency Coordinator at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY. Her compassion and dedication left a lasting impression on those she worked with.
She also found deep fulfillment being a mom to her two sons, Billy (married to Dawn) and T.J. (married to Jen), whom she raised with her first husband, Bill Murphy. GG’s nurturing spirit extended to her six grandchildren—Kaitlyn, Jenna, Jamie, Gelisse, Jack, and Isabella—and to her stepchildren, Cortney and Craig, and step-grandchildren Amanda, Morgan, and Kaitlin.
In retirement, Gerry pursued her passion for genealogy, contributing to Find-A-Grave by documenting and photographing burial sites to preserve family histories. Her love of research and storytelling helped countless families reconnect with their roots.
Gerry is survived by her loving husband Warren; her sons; her sister Lee Ann and brother Butch; and her extended family of grandchildren and step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Ronnie.
Her favorite charity was Last Hope Animal Rescue, reflecting her lifelong love for animals and her generous heart.
Gerry’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the stories she shared. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
