Carol A Snell
3/21/1949 – 7/16/2023
Carol Snell passed away on July 16, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease at 74 years of age. Carol was beloved by her family and friends. Her absence these past years, as she slowly slipped away, left an undeniable hole in our family.
Throughout her life, Carol always put others before herself. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, and mother. Despite having a full-time and demanding job, she never neglected her three boys, husband, siblings, and elderly parents. She led by example and taught her children strong values of loyalty, family, and empathy.
Carol’s calling was healthcare. She had a successful career as a psychiatric nurse, helping countless people when they were most desperate for help. She not only gave her time to helping those with mental illness but often put her body on the line to make sure those in need did not harm themselves. Even in retirement, she was still giving back to the community volunteering at the Long Island Children’s Museum putting smiles on the faces of young children, and leading a bereavement group at Sacred Heart Church.
Carol lived an active life for as long as she could. She loved to golf, bowl, and dance. She leaves behind many life-long friends.
