OBITUARY
Michael T LoCascio
11/19/1945 – 9/4/2024
Michael Thomas LoCascio, 78, passed away on September 4, 2024. Mike leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories that will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
Predeceased by his beloved parents, Salvatore LoCascio and Salvatrice Jean Schiro LoCascio, Mike is survived by his high-school sweetheart and devoted wife of 56 years, Gloria Ann LeBassi LoCascio. Together for 63 years, their bond was a testament to devotion and resilience. He was also blessed with two pain-in-the-ass sons, Michael S. LoCascio and Salvatore J. LoCascio, who he loves dearly.
Mike proudly served in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam War as a Specialist 4th Class. His military service was from December of 1965 to December of 1967, where he bravely jumped out of perfectly good airplanes. He earned an honorable discharge in December of 1971.
Following his military career, Mike found his calling in uniform sales, where he became affectionately known as “Mike Raggs.” However, his true passions extended far beyond his work. He was an avid lover of hot rods, had a knack for domesticating squirrels, and found tranquility in fishing and boating. Though his catches were often on the smaller side, the joy he shared with his loved ones in those simple moments was never diminished. Mike’s distinctive laughter and his inherent ability for “bustin’ chops” are what those who knew him will remember most.
Known for his DIY spirit, Mike had a unique talent for ‘temporary’ fixes, often relying on duct tape to get the job done. His ability to tip over canoes became a legendary skill that brought countless laughs over the years and he shared his humor generously with everyone around him.
Mike’s family and friends will forever cherish the memory of his laughter, his adventurous spirit, and his loving nature.
Rest in peace, Mike. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
