OBITUARY
Jacqueline Felix
6/25/1944 – 4/17/2022
Jacqueline Felix, aged 77, lost her battle with an aggressive form of cancer on Easter morning. She was cared for at home over the last few months and always surrounded by family in her final days.
Jackie is survived by her three daughters, Cathy, Evelyn and Doris, whom she raised as a hardworking single mother. She left her childhood home in Belgium at age 21 seeking a better life of freedom in America. All on her own and not yet able to speak English, Jackie started her life in New York as a ‘nanny’ for a family in Westchester NY. She taught herself English and learned to be a New Yorker. After a year in America she got married to John O. Gogikyan and started a family.
She worked several different jobs managing grocery stores before a back injury forced her into early retirement. Thereafter, she made it her “job” to look after (and spoil) her six grandkids. Nana took so much pride in Sara, Marc, Samantha, John, Stephanie and Bryan and was a huge part of all of their lives from their birth till her time of death. Generous and kind to everyone she met, Jackie was an exemplary hostess that was always sure to be dressed for the occasion. She believed in ‘the more the merrier’ and cooked up delectable feasts, making sure everyone had their fill – and more. Her family and friends will always remember her for her unconditional love, her beautiful smile, and her love of good food (especially those cooked in or smothered with butter). She’ll always have a special place in our hearts.
